STEM Week 2025!
We had so much fun celebrating STEM Week 2025 in Scoil Bhríde from April 7th – 11th! It was a really busy week where we explored all things science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Each class had the opportunity to engage in some fascinating science experiments. Some classes were lucky enough to meet a real-life scientist who helped us make some delicious drinks! Thanks to one of our lovely parents for being so generous with her time.
Each class held a Lego workshop during the week. The children came up with some amazing builds! First and Second classes had an extra Lego challenge to complete as part of our celebrations for 50 years of our wonderful school. The children were each given fifty pieces of Lego and asked to create and build using only those pieces. Their work was so impressive and it was a real challenge to pick the winners. In another nod to our fifty year celebrations, each class answered ten mental maths questions on each day during STEM week so by the end of the week we had all answered fifty!
The children explored some maths concepts using Numicon which everyone really enjoyed. We explored some fun apps on our iPads too.
To finish off our busy week, children had the opportunity to dress up- we had lots of mad scientists walking the corridors of Scoil Bhríde!
