Active Week 2019
As an Active School we must arrange an Active Week every year. This was our third Active Week and another great success. The pupils, staff and parents of Scoil Bhríde were certainly a little more active this week! Well done everyone! Have a look at some of our activities below.
All our classes experienced and enjoyed gymnastics sessions. Great fun was had with Coaches Janice, Sheena and Grace!
On Tuesday, we had our annual School Sponsored Walk, organised by our fantastic Parents’ Association. Lots of our mums and dads joined the children on the walk to Father Collins Park. It was a bright and sunny day, but a little chilly! The children received a little treat from the Parents’ Association after their big walk! Well done boys and girls!
On Wednesday, Daragh and Ken visited Scoil Bhríde to give our Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd classes an introduction to badminton. The children really enjoyed these sessions – a first for many of them!
Some of the classes did Folk Dancing with their teachers, Ms. Craig and/or Ms. Kelly. They learned traditional dances such as Skip to my Lou and A Bird Flew in to the Wood.
Here are Ms. Begley’s Senior Infants showing off their moves!
On Friday, Ms. Kelly organised an Easter egg hunt in our school garden. They weren’t chocolate eggs – they were pretend ones! We had a good run around and it was great fun! We found ALMOST all the eggs!
